Opposition

It continues to amaze me when I see or hear the verbal opposition to being Gorean. It surprises me that on many occasions it comes from people who state that they are pansexual, open minded and liberal in their thinking. The majority of verbal opposition comes from both the kink and Leather communities.

What people forget is the long standing verbal war and passionate debate that has taken place over many years both online and in person. many people that were first engaged in the 1990’s as the internet was made public are no longer around, but the impressions and misconceptions continue to be passed around down through the new generations.

 

I talk often about what being Gorean is all about.

* Truth

* Integrity

* Honour

* Strength

* Freedom

* Duty

 

I do not understand why this is so threatening to people and why there is so much hated and animosity towards anyone who stands on these principles and strive to live in a fashion found throughout the Books. Being in a Master/slave dynamic is not for everyone. But…. for those who enjoy and  find comfort and a place of purpose with Master/slave relationships, why would anyone else take offense to that? It is puzzling, but is a regular topic of discussion and gossip in many circles.

The opening quote sums up very accurately my beliefs and where I stand on opposition.
